# Ministrul conservator acționează ca un „general colonial” privind interzicerea reformei de gen, spune deputatul SNP

Un ministru conservator a fost acuzat că se comportă ca un „general colonial”, împiedicând ca reformele de gen ale Scoției să devină lege.

Deputatul SNP Pete Wishart l-a condamnat pe Alister Jack, secretarul de stat pentru Scoția, după ce a confirmat că guvernul Regatului Unit a pus veto asupra proiectului de lege privind reforma recunoașterii genului, care a fost adoptat de Parlamentul Scoțian.

Este prima dată când se întâmplă acest lucru de când a fost introdusă deconcentrarea în urmă cu aproape 25 de ani.

Proiectul de lege este destinat să faciliteze schimbarea legală de gen pentru persoanele trans, prin accelerarea procesului și scăderea vârstei la care poate avea loc.

Jack a folosit așa-numitul „ordin al secțiunii 35” pentru a împiedica proiectul de lege să devină lege din cauza temerilor că ar trece Legea Egalității în Marea Britanie.

„Guvernul a examinat îndeaproape impactul potențial al proiectului de lege și am luat în considerare toate implicațiile politice și operaționale relevante împreună cu ministrul pentru femei și egalitate de șanse.

„Și evaluarea noastră este că proiectul de lege ar avea un impact negativ grav asupra, printre altele, asupra funcționării Legii privind egalitatea din 2010.

„Aceste efecte adverse includ impactul asupra funcționării cluburilor, asociațiilor și școlilor de un singur sex, precum și protecții precum salarizarea egală”.

Dar deputatul Wishart pentru Perth și North Perthshire a spus că a fost „cel mai mare atac împotriva devoluției scoțiane și a democrației scoțiane de la înființarea Parlamentului Scoțian”.

El a spus: „O mișcare de a anula o lege care este susținută de fiecare partid din parlament este pe atât de provocatoare, pe atât de nedemocratică.

„Acum, adevăratul general colonial își impune opinia asupra unui parlament scoțian reticent în numele războaielor culturale ale partidului său?”

Între timp, Nicola Sturgeon a confirmat că guvernul scoțian va contesta în instanță decizia guvernului britanic.

„Și dacă acest lucru este permis să se întâmple, atunci cred că este o pantă foarte alunecoasă ca guvernul Regatului Unit să decidă să pună veto asupra deciziilor parlamentului scoțian ori de câte ori dorește”, a spus premierul.
